Welcome to the section dedicated to questions and curiosities about CicloGustando.
Our goal is to offer those who travel the beautiful roads of the Terre di Siena an experience with a different rhythm: one of discovery, taste, and conviviality. Whether you are an expert cyclist ready to test yourself on the slopes of Colle Pinzuto or an enthusiast who prefers to enjoy the landscape and a good glass of wine in company, here you will find all the information you need to organize your experience.
Absolutely not. CicloGustando is an invitation to slow tourism. There are no stopwatches, rankings, or starting grids. It is a personal journey of discovery designed for those who want to enjoy the landscape, culture, and food and wine of Tuscany without the pressure of competition. You can cycle alone or with friends, stop at the tasting stops, and freely plan an experience that is just right for you.
No, no registration or participation fee is required to take part in the routes or GustoMusic events.
Access is free and open to everyone: You will only pay for the food, drinks and services that you opt to purchase along the way.
The GustoMusic stops transform iconic points along the route—such as Colle Pinzuto, Le Tolfe, and Piazza Indipendenza in Siena—into places of celebration with wine and local product tastings, live music or entertainment, and opportunities to meet local producers and other cyclists and enthusiasts.
They are organized in the days leading up to the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche (Thursday and Friday), with a detailed program of times and locations published from time to time in the Events section of the website.
The CicloGustando routes can be traveled all year round, in complete autonomy. CicloGustando is a permanent itinerary that you can experience whenever you want. During the Strade Bianche event, the route comes alive with the GustoMusic stops, but the magic of Strade Bianche is always there, ready to be discovered at your own pace.
There are no mandatory starting or finishing points: you are free to choose where to start your tour and which sections to cover.
The interactive map helps you locate landmarks, refreshment stops, and services, so you can plan the itinerary that best suits you based on the time you have available and your fitness level.
The routes follow the famous dirt roads and paved sections of the Sienese hills: they are ideal for gravel bikes, road bikes with suitable tires, mountain bikes, and e-bikes.
The choice depends on your style: the important thing is to have a bike in good condition, with gears suitable for for climbing hills and tires suitable for dirt roads.
Yes, the experience is designed to be accessible to everyone. As it is a “slow” tour, everyone can choose the distance and gradients they prefer. You can do just a few sections, stop often, and enjoy the scenery. The GustoMusic stops are also accessible by car, making them the perfect meeting point for family and friends who want to join you for a toast!
You can find interactive maps and downloadable files directly in the Routes section of our website. You can upload them to your bike computer or smartphone to navigate independently and safely.
Participation in the GustoMusic stops is free of charge; you do pay for tastings, food, and any services offered by the operators present.
Each stop offers its own tasting options, from single glasses to platters, always featuring typical local products.
CicloGustando routes take place on roads open to traffic: it is essential to comply with the Highway Code, ride carefully, and adjust your speed to the terrain conditions.
We recommend wearing a helmet, lights, and high-visibility clothing.
Thanks to our network of local partners, you will find farmhouses, wineries, restaurants, accommodation facilities, bike rental services, cycling guides, and other useful operators to help you organize your stay.
All these services are marked on the interactive map, so you can plan your stops, overnight stays, and tastings in advance.
For updates on the program and news, you can follow our official social media channels.
During the event (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday), come visit us at the CicloGustando Stand at the Villaggio Fortezza in Siena: we will be happy to give you all the information you need and share the spirit of the project with you!
